7.5% IPA brewed with 100% Brett & Matcha Green Tea. Tangy & hoppy, the smooth green tea texture is instantly recognisable. The Green ’T’ IPA is our second Mayday Hills release. Again 100% brettanomyces fermentation dominates the proﬁle of the beer. Tropical fruit aromas from the Brett and the Hops combine perfectly. Then green tea is grown in the Kiewa Valley at the foot of Mt Bogong by Alpine Tea Co. The tea plays a secondary role with a hint of aroma and a smooth texture instantly recognisable to green tea drinkers. If you liked the ﬁrst Mayday Hills release ‘Yee-hah!’ then you’ll love this, and vice versa.
Matcha (powdered) green T grown by the Alpine Tea Co in the nearby Kiewa Valley was sourced to be used in this beer. The Tea used for Matcha comes from the ﬁrst spring harvest each season and is considered the highest quality tea of the year. The inﬂuence we noticed on the beer once added to the Foeder at dry hopping is a textural change and smoothness underlying the more robust up front ﬂavours from the Brettanomyces and Hops.
