Amanda is the heart and soul of Bridge Road. She is the longest serving employee and very little would get done in the place without her. When Amanda said she wanted Mandarins in this years spring brew she got it. Built around fresh and dried Mandarin in conjuction with big new world hops, melded togther into a refreshing 5.5% spring brew. Amanda- Rin-Lager: perfect for the warming weather.
Amanda is the heart and soul of Bridge Road, she is the longest serving employee and very little would get done in the place without her. Owners and brewers get all the glory but often they are a long way from the people who actually keep the wheels turning of a business.
A brief discussion between Amanda and I many months ago resulted in us deciding to use citrus in this years brew- something that grows in abundence in our region at the time of brewing this lager. Amanda wanted Mandarins and so the recipe built around fresh and dried Mandarin in conjuction with big new world hops and then lagered for to allow these big flavours to mellow and meld togther into a refreshing spring brew.
The light malt bill and lager profile of this beer are used to provide a smooth clean canvas for the new world hops and mandarin additions to shine through. The hops used alongside fresh mandarins and dried peel work together to provide both aromas and flavours of ripe, tropical fruit and of course citrus. The finish is dry with a defined but mild bitterness.
