6.2% 100% Brett Fermented Sour Amber Ale. This malty sour ale has a smooth malt body, subtle hop aroma and a refreshing sour twist to finish. This beer has been made with Munich malt from Voyager craft malt. It was fermented with our house Brettanomyces yeast and soured before being boiled and re-fermented in stainless. The finished beer has been lightly dry hopped with local Galaxy hops.
For this Mayday release we have used a single origin, small batch artisan malt from a local grower and maltster in the Riverina. Attributed purely to the single Munich style malt, this beer pours a beautiful light orange amber colour with a bright white head.
Firstly the aroma is packed full of crisp citrus, stone fruit and pineapple. Backing up these first impressions are undertones of stewed fruit, raisins and toffee combining perfectly to create an amazingly refreshing, yet full and rich aroma.
On the palate there is a great “sweet n sour” combination of full bodied tropical stewed fruits and raisins coupled with a pleasant sour acidity.
